Book Purse

I really dig these book purses. Impractical? Maybe. Difficult to make? Probably. Would I get made fun of? Definitely. But despite it all, I think they are most excellent.

Emma Watson after Harry Potter

How interesting! It looks like Hermione will be starring in another young adult book to movie adaptation for her next project, minus wands and alchemy. She is going to be playing Samantha from the short book The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. And playing the lead role of Charlie will be Logan Lerman, otherwise known as Percy Jackson to most of you. Oddly enough, the author of the book will be directing the movie himself. I wonder how it's going to turn out..

(Belated) Valentine's Post

Books crushes. We've all had them, right? Gilbert Blythe. Mr. Darcy. Oh wait, or is that just me? Well, I have a way for you to find out who your real book soulmate is. Teen Reads has a special Valentine's Day quiz for all of you who, like me, swoon over fictional boys. And then come back and tell me via comment on this post who you matched with! When I took it, I got Daniel Grigori from Fallen by Lauren Kate. How is "an absolute angel, literally." Do you have any other book crushes?

Libba Bray Interview

Libba Bray might be a little wacky... well... a lot wacky... but Going Bovine is still a really great book. I mean, can you think of a book about mad cow disease, road trips, video gaming dwarves, and lawn gnomes that isnt awesome? Because I cant.

Title: Going Bovine
Author: Libba Bray
Published: 2009
Age: 13+
Synopsis:  Cameron Smith, a disaffected sixteen year-old who, after being diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob (aka mad cow) disease, sets off on a road trip with a death-obsessed video gaming dwarf he meets in the hospital in an attempt to find a cure.

Reimagination of the Month

When everything is completely buried in snow, it's rather hard to imagine springtime. So when my imagination isn't complying, I just pop in this movie and bask in its warm, English loveliness. And in the meanwhile, what better reimagination for the long dreary winter months than that of children's classic movie, The Secret Garden?

Items in this set:

For those of you who aren't familiar with the book (although I'd be shocked if there were any!), it is the story about a young girl born in India who comes to live with her Uncle in England when her parents die in an earthquake. While there she discovers a garden that has been locked and forgotten and as she revives the garden, makes friends with a robin, and discovers an annexed cousin, she revives herself. If you've never seen it, go, run, get it now!
