I'll Say that Book's Late!

I just read this article and was amazed by how late this man's book was. "A conscientious former student brought a library book back 61 YEARS late - but heaved a sigh of relief when staff waived the £4,500 fine."

What is the latest you've bought a book back?

Harry Potter Spells We Actually Need

So we are going into summer, I found myself hitting that wall. You know the one where you get excited because of summer vacation (!!!) then you remember you work a job where you don't get the summer off. If only we had Harry Potter spells to make working inside all summer a little better. Here's a funny list from Buzzfeed of some Harry Potter Spells We Actually Need. Which ones do you like?

Reading Rainbow is Back!

As I am sure you all have heard by now, Reading Rainbow is coming back to television! LeVar Burton started a Kickstarter campaign to reach $1,000,000 to relaunch the show, and the goal was reached in less than twenty four hours! How wonderful! They have just updated their campaign with a new "stretch goal" of five million dollars to ensure the show's quality and longevity.

Do you remember Reading Rainbow or was that a little before/after your time? For those of you unfamiliar with the show (if you even exist!), it is a classic PBS show that ran from 1983 to 2009. Every episode a theme would be introduced, such as baking, martial arts, folklore, etc., and then a related picture book would be read by someone well-known, such as a celebrity or a professional athlete. There was a lot of behind the scenes exploration as well, so children could learn about the world around them. I still remember how to make paper out of the cotton fibers from old jeans. Practical? Maybe not. But I still loved watching it. It was a beautiful show and I am so happy for the children today who will get to have this gem.
