A Real Batsuit?

I just learned that there is an industrial design student at Philadelphia University who is planning to build a functional suit of combat armor based on Bathman via Kickstarter funds. How. Amazing. Check him out!

“It’s important to stress that this is not a costume, but rather an actual fully functioning replication of what a person would want in a modern type combat suit. This suit is not being designed to take on gunfire, as that would cost exponentially more and is above my skill set, but rather towards hand to hand combat and weapon defense against bats, knifes, and other club like objects.”

So I took the "What's Your Reading Personality" test, and I am "The Aesthete." Which basically means I read classic books and don't like happy endings. Oh dear!

If ever you are at a loss for words in a verbal sparring match, never fear! Shakespeare has got your back! Here is a poster of categorized insults penned by the Bard himself. You're welcome.

From the website: "A tribute to Shakespeare's dagger-like wit, featuring 100 of his greatest insults, categorized by topic. This array of verbal swordplay includes classics like, "I was seeking for a fool when I found you", and "More of your conversation would infect my brain". Each print is signed and numbered by the artist. Made with 100lb. recycled, archival quality, FSC certified paper and vegetable inks, these prints are offset lithograph pressed in the town of Mukilteo, Washington."'

Paddington Movie

So. I adore the Paddington Bear books by Michael Bond, and have read more than one in the past year. There are just some juvenile books that you can read as an adult and get just as much enjoyment out of them as when a child, and Paddington is one of those series for me.

When I heard it was going to be a movie, I squeeeed for like two days straight. It is due in theaters on November 15th. The film, directed by Paul King, co-stars stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters, Michael Gambon, and Imelda Staunton. I hope it's good!

What beloved juvenile books would you like to see become a movie?

Jurassic Cats

I hope everyone had a fantastic Halloween! How about we start the week with something different? Namely, a short clip created with scenes from Jurassic Park where giant cats are chasing the kids in the kitchen instead of raptors. I've watched it four times. Excuse me while I go watch it again.
